Accountant REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field, honors will be an added advantage.

REQUIRED MINIMUM (relevant) WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in non-profit sector and/or grants accounting for donor funded projects.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the operations of programs funded by U.S. Government.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks and PeopleSoft or any Oracle based system.
  • Ability to consistently follow financial and administrative procedures and to explain these procedures to those unfamiliar with them.
  • Proficient keyboarding, computer data entry and spreadsheet creations.
  • General knowledge of U.S. Government rules and regulations related to financial management of grants and co-operative agreements.

  • High values in teamwork, work ethic, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team with all levels of staff and management; fluency in English required.
