Technical Specifications Education: Advanced Technical Degree or Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics,
Marketing or Mechanical Engineering skillset within the company.Technical and Functional Experience:
Prospective Plant manager/plant management team/operator should possess the following technical:

  • Excellent knowledge of agricultural production and agricultural engineering;
  • Understanding of animal feed and charcoal production in Namibia;
  • Experience in manufacturing industry, especially in setting up a production system;
  • Technical and commercial capabilities;
  • Understanding of potential financial and general operational impacts on the business;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Production systems/value chain knowledge;
  • Food safety, quality management and the capacity building skills;
  • Knowledge on machinery for:
    • harvesting
    • animal feed production
    • charcoal production

Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English are required.
Country Program Coordinator (CPC) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Citizen of the Country of Namibia.
  2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in agriculture, business administration, management, public administration, finance, accounting, community development, economics, or a related field
  3. High level of motivation, personal commitment, and ethical standards.
  4. High level of fluency in spoken and written English.
  5. High level of fluency in at least one major Namibian local language.
  6. Willingness to travel extensively throughout Namibia.
  7. Demonstrated ability to operate independently in high visibility, high-pressure environments and operate in a complex office environment, emergency and/or political crisis situations with minimal supervision.
  8. Knowledge of grant management or commercial/micro-lending.
  9. Experience working with marginalized groups and/or community-based enterprises, particularly farmer groups, cooperatives, or other group managed enterprises.
  10. Experience managing client relationships, especially in a grant management, banking, usiness development, or international development context.
  11. Experience with or education related to financial management/accounting and preparation of financial reports.
  12. Experience auditing, monitoring, or evaluating international development programs.
  13. Ten years of professional experience in business development, finance, banking, auditing, monitoring and evaluation, and/or management of international development programs, preferably in Namibia.
  14. Knowledge of community needs assessment, mobilization, community enterprises participatory development, and/or monitoring the implementation of an assistance activity
    under a grant or cooperative agreement.
  15. Experience working with the Government of Namibia Ministries and liaising with Government of Namibia Officials and reporting requests.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Knowledge of and commitment to USADF mission and priorities.
  2. Knowledge or experience with community needs assessments.
